Hello!

I'm still in the process of a redesign, naturally these things take longer than usual and to top it all off things have been busier in other areas of my life.  As I work through how I want my blog to look and feel, I'm going to post every now and then since I miss it so! 

Here are few things for the home that have caught my eye over the past few months:

1. Design*Sponge Shop - Grace has done it again, this month features some great, affordable art.  My favorites are by Amanda Kavanagh and Geoff Wood.

Craft Fair

I went to the craft fair at Divine studio this past Sunday and saw some lovely things - jewelry, textiles, leather goods, ceramics.  Basically it was like walking into a room of very talented, creative people.   Some of my favorites from the show:

First Birthday

It's my goddaughter's first birthday this past friday and so I'm hunting down a cool gift to give her.  I ran across Lille through Creature Comforts today and found some really cute things for babies as well as other lovely things.

1.  Pink Booties  - $29  2.  Monkey Backpack  - $38 3. Knit dog - $36

I really need a jewelry case so was drawn to these two but they are both way out of my price range.

7.  Heidi Caillard Hen - potter from Provence, love the shape of this hen - small ones run $129  8.  Trees Lamp - John Derian - $900  9.  Eclipse Lamp - small one runs over $2000 - it's beautiful but I'm sure West Elm will come out with a cheap version of it.

You  know those people at work who always use other people's stuff from the refrigerator?  You do...everyone has one.  My coworker saw another coworker go into our refrigerator at work the other day and use her salad dressing.  At least if you're going to use it, be sneaky about it right? 
I would love to find/design some sort of signage - maybe even on a really cool rubber band like the ones at Russell and Hazel, that says:

Please don't eat me!
For <insert name>, not for you!
Hands off!
Did you make me?  No?  Then go away.

You get the idea.

On another note, I love SFGirlbyBay's post on Le French Bull.   Such pretty melamine plates, utensils, etc.  These are some of my favorites:

design*sponge Shop!

It's been a while since I've posted, work has taken me away from lots of stuff.  But I'm back!  I just saw grace from design*sponge's
newest endeavor - her design*sponge shop.  Check it out - it's filled with some lovely items that are all under $100 and are unique to the designsponge website.  There are things from Mav at Port2Port, Karin from Karin's Style Blog, and others.  I'm debating what I should buy.  Also 10% of the advertisement revenue goes to charity.

Neisha Crosland

Lately we've been working on getting our front room to a usable state.   That entailed purchasing a computer desk last weekend and talking over the eventuality of giving up our dining room and creating a work space/sitting room.   Our house is quite narrow - and while the high ceilings help alleviate some of that narrowness, it doesn't solve our issues of a cluttered front room.   I'll have to take pictures to explain what I mean and post them. 

Suffice it say, there has been much discussion about how to make it more usable and attractive.  One of the things that seems to come up is the need for curtains - this discussion usually stems from the early morning comment from one of us - "Do you think that construction worker can see me sitting here in my underwear?"   I would love to be able to find something affordable and cool looking.  If it were solely my choice, I'd go with something that had a vivid green or purple as the main color.  In my search for curtains and fabric, I came across Neisha Crosland through Print & Pattern. 
She has some beautiful fabrics, here are some of my favorites:

Basic French

I had no idea such a cool place like Basic French was located in Red Hook Brooklyn...I can't wait to check it out!
