I'm loving this blog by Jordon Ferney.  She's an event planner with a great eye for the beautiful, simple things from birthday parties to rugs.

If you need some eye candy, Love Made Visible has tons.  I really like the fashion week synopsis of each collection, but there's tons other beautiful things to view. 

Cool Blog - Oh Joy!

I've been looking at Oh Joy's blog for about a year now...she's constantly full of great design ideas and finds.  Recently she let the blog world into some of the work she did for her own wedding, really beautiful stuff.  And now she's topped it off with her new business website which showcases her work over the past few years.  Not only does Joy have a great eye for detail, but she's very creative with a unique design outlook that shows up in her work and her blog.  Check out her blog and website!

Cool Blog #2 - Eva Nouveau

I've decided that I'm going to do the Cool Blog posts once or twice a month - to highlight those blogs that I consistently can't get enough of.  There are amazing blogs everywhere, and this certainly isn't intended to make it competitive, it's just that blog that happens to really impact and inspire me.  And it's a chance for others who perhaps have simliar interests to see these Cool Blogs. 

So you may remember the first Cool Blog - and that was Mav's lovely port2port blog.  I go  to hers regularly, daily, obsessively unless something tedious like work gets in the way.   

Cool Blog #2 is Eva Nouveau  who I found through Oh Joy!.  Here are the reasons why I think Eva has a Cool Blog:

• First off, Eva does letterpress and, in my eyes, that's bitchin'
• She has a wealth of letterpress resources, links, etc. 
• Her idea of design porn is the same as mine
• Her work is fantastic and I'm very jea...opps I mean envious (that's the one where I'm happy for Eva, right ?)

Love Letters and more

Happy V Day!
As entertaining as it would be to embarass my BF right now on the web with mushy things, I'll spare him and all of you the indignity.  Instead I'll show you a few things that I've come across lately that deal with love.

• 300 love letters - an interesting project by someone (Asia) who sends 300 (well actually 400) letters to strangers but they aren't to the strangers.  Confused yet?  Me too. But they're still great to read.
• Day26 - photolog documenting a couple who were married on the 26th of June, 2003 and their adventures.  The web design is pretty cool too.
• thelovebite.com - delicious recipes with great pictures of the food as well. Mannix has done a creative way of pulling the recipes together as dates with menus and tips to go along with them.
• I saw this recently - it made sad.  The first birthday I spent with my BF he searched high and low to bring me a cake that I'd like (since I have this aversion to chocolate cake - don't ask, I know it's weird) and he found the ultimate one at the Polka Dot Cake Studio - it was a memorable cake, so good in fact that cooks in the kitchen at the birthday brunch locale stole some.

 

 

Cool Blog #1: port2port

So I've decided to start a new category, one that addresses all the cool blogs I've seen.  There are loads of fantastic blogs out there, and I come across new ones everyday.   Today's cool blog is port2port, which I found in a roundabout way that I have no recollection of now.   Anyway, here are the reasons why I think port2port is cool and why you should probably check out the site:

1. The blog is really cleanly and beautifully designed with a great banner
2. The above, really enables you to focus on one of the coolest part of the site and that's mav's photography.   She has the ability to see the beauty in the everyday things.  It's one of those things that you wish you could do, and that even if you did, you can't quite capture it on film.
3. She does limited edition letterpress notecards that are beautiful - check them out
4. She has a great collection of links to other cool blogs and has visitors who obviously really enjoy her blog and regularly check it out
5. It makes me happy to see a new post on port2port
