Spring!

The peach tree blossoms are out in our front yard.  They make me happy!

Peaches!

Our peach tree is going crazy.  It looks like a bumper crop of peaches this year.  Last year we closed on the house and moved in after the peaches had ripened and after they had fallen off or been taken by the neighbors (which of course is totally fine since they weren't ours technically).    This year we're thinking that since there are so many we'll need to give some away and then of course make some peach cobbler.  Other ideas - chutney, peach preserves...oo the possibilities!

Three good things

Three excellent things happened this past weekend:

1. The boiler works! After a few hours and a replaced valve we have heat.  It's a good thing, a very good thing.  The picture below is of the scary boiler that is in the kitchen.  When it was first turned on there was a serious water leak.  Seeing as this isn't the time of year to flood the basement, it made sense to get it fixed.

2.  The new couch came!   It's a thing of beauty.  We're afraid to sit on it, let along eat dinner on it.   We'll see how long that lasts.  The old couch went to a lovely couple in the hood - although we're not sure if they were able to get it into their apartment or not.  Fingers crossed.

3.  It snowed!  Thankfully number 1 on this list happened so that saying it snowed is a good thing.
